200 students and their parents participated in the voting day on the ideas of the initiatives presented within Ibda’ Youth program in the schools, at Ibad Al-Rahman Exemplary School– Gaza, on Wednesday, March 3, 2019.
10 initiatives were presented. The first winning initiative "Hand in Hand to Plant Together" focuses on urban agriculture; and its benefits for the local community, using narrow spaces and rooftops for planting. The grant amount for this initiative is $ 400.
The second winning initiative “Reviving the Palestinian Identity” targets the school students, and trains them in the Palestinian Folkloric dance Dabkeh, in order to participate in national and heritage events/festivals thus preserving the cultural and societal heritage. The grant amount for this initiative is $ 350. We would like to thank the school administration, teachers and volunteers who contributed to the success of the voting day.
