We organized A Ouneh- volunteer day in Tawani village, near Hebron, on Friday the 25th of October. Groups from IBDA' Youth Program, which is in partnership with Drosos Foundation, helped stabilize the greenhouse in the village, which uses the agroecological model of agriculture, we also dug the earth between the raised beds for the water pipes.
The Tawani Women Association had received a grant from the Women Supporting Women Program two years ago to build the greenhouse, and after a wonderful vegetable yield, the house was destroyed from tear-gas canisters from the Israeli soldiers, as well as the harsh winter.
Afterward, we visited Sumood Camp in Saroura, run by a youth group who encourage the steadfastness of the locals in their land, and coordinate groups standing in solidarity with the people of the region. Before heading back, we all decided to stop by the village of Battir, which is a UNESCO world heritage site.
Thank you all for participating in the Ouneh day!
