Dalia Association organized the second discussion session of the "Al-Ouna Chants" series at Power Group in Beit Jala on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The event encouraged dialogue on mobilizing community resources and promoting community giving, with a focus on historical examples of Al-Ouna practices.
Ahmed Harbawi from Al-Nadwa Cultural Club shared insights on the urban characteristics of Hebron and their historical influence on Al-Ouna practices in the city. George Mattar from Baladi Center highlighted the power of volunteering and community giving to foster social belonging and solidarity, showcasing a practical model from Baladi Center’s work.
Participants explored diverse forms of community giving and built connections between the attending institutions. They tackled challenges, emphasized the importance of community mobilization, and discussed innovative models for organizational management and recommended holding similar meetings regularly and expanding them to include a broader range of individuals and institutions to maximize their impact and sustainability.
